Northland College students seek to raise awareness of genocide

Students taking art classes at Northland College organized a campus event on Wednesday, April 11, to raise awareness of genocide as they participate in the national One Million Bones project. Students are using clay and other materials to create bones that will be sent to Washington D.C. for display on the National Mall in spring 2013 as a reminder of the lives lost to genocide. Students also held a discussion, followed by a candlelight vigil, to bring attention to current incidents of genocide around the world and how genocide can be prevented.
