Northland College hosts U.S. Holocaust Museum Lecture

Eric C. Steinhart will be presenting a lecture titled "The Chameleon of Trawniki: How a Red Army Office Became a Holocaust Perpetrator and an American Citizen," on November 2, at 7:00 p.m. in the Sentry Room of the Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute. The event is free and open to the public.

Steinhart is a PhD candidate in modern European history at the University of North Carolina. He earned an M.A. in modern European history from the same institution and B.A. summa cum laude in history from St. Olaf College. His dissertation, "Creating Killers: the Nazification of the Black Sea Germans, 1941-1944," examines the role of local collaborators in the Holocaust in southern Ukraine. The lecture is sponsored by Northland College Humanities Department, Office of Academic Affairs, and the Campus Outreach Lecture Program of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum's Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies, supported by the generosity of Jack and Goldie Wolfe Miller.
