Northland College hires Director of Alumni Relations
December 19, 2011
Northland alumna Michelle Chase has been appointed to be the college's Director of Alumni Relations. Chase will help foster relationships between the College and alumni, as well as the Northland College Alumni Association.
"I'm delighted to be back at Northland and to reconnect with the enthusiastic individuals working at the college," says Chase. "I'm excited about providing full-time support to our alumni and working with them to determine new ideas and plans."
Chase highlighted the possibility for Northland students to receive mentoring and internship opportunities through interaction with college alumni.
"Alumni are very important to the college because they provide a huge network that can strengthen possibilities for Northland graduates," says Chase. "The more we can work with alumni and foster those relationships, the more opportunities and benefits Northland can provide to both alumni and students."
Chase will devote her energy to coordinating alumni events, connecting with former students and more fully integrating the alumni association board in efforts to support and strengthen Northland College. She feels communication between alumni and Northland is a vital part of maintaining good relations.
"Northland has gone through a lot of changes in the last 10 to 15 years. It's important to communicate those changes so alumni continue to recognize the college as the place they identify with," says Chase. "Not only that, but we also want to show alumni how Northland is moving forward while still espousing the core values that alumni experienced and fell in love with themselves."
Chase graduated from Northland College in 1998 with a bachelor's in psychology. She received her master's in counseling from the University of Wisconsin - Stout in 2001. Chase is a licensed psychotherapist with experience offering mental health services to college and community populations.
