Northland College names new Vice President of Student Affairs and Institutional Sustainability
June 26, 2012
Michele Meyer has been appointed the new Vice President of Student Affairs and Institutional Sustainability at Northland College. Meyer previously served as Dean of Student Life for Northland. She will begin serving as a vice president on July 1."Michele has demonstrated commitment and excellent performance as Dean of Student Life, and her strong leadership has been witnessed across the college," says Michael A. Miller, Northland College President. "In her new role, Michele will aid the college in enhancing and establishing partnerships between Northland and the Chequamegon Bay area community."
Meyer has worked at Northland College since 1990. She first served as the Assistant Director of Counseling and Career Services at Northland College. She aided the college in a variety of capacities before becoming the Dean of Student Life at Northland College in July 2010. As dean, Meyer helped improve and develop sustainability initiatives across the college and region. She most recently spearheaded a seven-month cooperative effort with staff and students to evaluate and improve student life on campus. In addition, she has aided the college's strategic planning through cooperative efforts and value-based decisions.
"I am grateful for this opportunity to lead ongoing efforts by the hardworking faculty, staff and students to enhance sustainability and student life on campus," says Meyer. "Our goal is to always evaluate and improve the student experience, as well as collaborate with community partners to make the campus and surrounding area more healthy, vibrant and sustainable. I look forward to helping guide those efforts and facilitate new ideas as the vice president of student affairs and institutional sustainability."
