Northland College seeking public input as it pursues re-accreditation
February 1, 2012
Northland College is currently seeking re-accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission, a non-governmental regional accrediting agency. The commission will evaluate a self-study prepared by Northland College. The evaluation will assess Northland's financial stability, student services, learning, programs and the college's relationships with those on and off campus. Northland College invites the public to offer their comments to the commission as it seeks re-accreditation. Public comments on Northland College will be accepted through Friday, February 10.
"Accreditation offers public certification and confidence in how Northland College is operating and the quality of education provided on campus," says Julia Waggoner, team leader for the group tasked with preparing the college's self-study. "At Northland, we want to ensure that we're serving the needs of students, faculty and staff, as well as the community at large."
Written comments can be sent to Public Comment on Northland College, The Higher Learning Commission, 230 South LaSalle Street, Suite 7-500, Chicago, IL 60604-1411. Comments can also be submitted through the Higher Learning Commission's web site at www.ncahlc.org. The HLC requests that all comments address substantive matters related to the quality of the institution or its academic programs.
