Profile
Danielle Kaeding is the station manager of WRNC-LP at Northland College in Ashland. Kaeding comes from a journalism background. She studied Mass Communications at the University of Wisconsin in Superior. While attending UW-Superior, Kaeding worked under Wisconsin Public Radio reporter Mike Simonson and regional manager John Munson studying broadcast journalism. Prior to graduating, Kaeding won her first Wisconsin Associated Press Award in the Division One category at the age of 21 for a radio documentary she wrote and produced on methamphetamine abuse called "I Can Handle My Drugs." Kaeding went on to win three more Wisconsin AP Awards for her series reporting on Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and feature reports on Oktoberfest and Bayfield's Polar Bear Plunge. Kaeding has garnered several awards as a student and professional from the Northwest Broadcast News Association, Wisconsin Associated Press, Milwaukee Press Club and Wisconsin Broadcasters Association. Kaeding worked for the La Crosse Bureau of Wisconsin Public Radio from February 2009 to July 2010. She left WPR in July 2010 to launch a news website in the Chequamegon Bay region. Kaeding later joined the Ashland Daily Press in September 2010 as the government/environmental reporter for the daily newspaper. Kaeding joined Northland College in July 2011 and currently oversees student staff and volunteers, as well as the general operations of WRNC-LP.
