What was the biggest surprise when you came to Northland? The friendly staff, faculty and students. Many professors treat you almost like family and share a passion for the area.

Who is your favorite faculty member and why? Jim Meeker, he knows so much about the area and has a passion for sharing it.

What is the best advice you could give to a prospective student? When choosing a school, look for a school that not only interests you, but also challenges you to grow.

Why did you choose Northland? I chose Northland for its special programs such as Natural Resources. We have a one million acre forest and the largest freshwater lake in the world to study in.

What do you love most about living in Ashland, WI? The climate, there is so much to do. Activities include sea kayaking the Apostle Island in the summer, hunting in the fall, skiing in the winter, and fly fishing in the spring.

What do you love about Northland? Being able to immerse myself into so many activities, all of which have made a difference in helping me grow not only as a person, but as a leader.

What are your plans after graduation? I plan to be a Park Ranger for the Wisconsin DNR

How have scholarships and financial aid affected your educational experience? It made going to Northland cheaper than going to the state schools. It also has given me a more personalized education that what is offered at other schools.
