Sustainability

You are supporting the ethics of a company with dollar you spend on their products. Do a little research and be informed about your favorite companies' social and environmental responsibility. If you find that their actions are not so green, write them a letter or take an active step to boycott their products. Check out www.scryve.com to find more information. Read More

Northland College has established a goal of using 20% local foods on campus for the 2012-2013 school year, with the ultimate goal of 80% local food over time. Northland, in partnership with its food service provider Chartwells, is working with the UW-Extension, Chequamegon Food Co-op, Bayfield Regional Food Producers Cooperative (BRFPC) and other local farms to meet the demand of hungry students with locally produced food.
Northland College is also a signatory of the Lake Superior Good Food Charter and the Superior Compact Purchasing Commitment. We recognize the influential role of Lake Superior and our bioregion on agriculture and our diet and are committed to working with others across the Lake Superior region to create a vibrant local food system.
