Northland College Recognized with Innovator Award
The Sustainable Endowments Institute (SEI) has named Northland College a winner of the 2009 Sustainability Innovators Award. Eight schools in all were selected for recognition for their leadership in sustainability through two award programs: the Sustainability Innovator Awards and the Champions of Sustainability in Communities Awards. Both Programs are part of the new College Sustainability Report Card 2009.
Award-winning author to visit Northland
Author and Sigurd F. Olson Nature Writing Award (SONWA) winner Karsten Heuer, will give a public reading and presentation at Northland College on Thursday, October 9. The event will be held in the Alvord Theatre in the Ponzio Campus Center beginning at 7:20 p.m. and will be open to the public free of charge. The event is sponsored by SOEI and the Northland College Student Association.
Northland receives more than 8,000 albums as donation
The Music Department at Northland College has received a donation of more than 8,000 albums previously owned by 1979 alumnus Robert Travaglini. The collection features 3,768 compact discs and 4,669 vinyl records for a total of 8,437 titles. The albums cover a myriad of styles from jazz and country to glam rock and classical.
