Profile
I have been a faculty member at the College since 1991 and have truly enjoyed teaching here. The environmental/liberal arts mission is consistent with my own worldview. The smaller classes are particularly important when teaching in the disciplines of Religion and Philosophy.
I also very much enjoy living in the northwoods and near Lake Superior.
Research
My current research is on the religio-philosophical dimensions of silence. I have also conducted research on the burakumin, a ethnically Japanese people who have been historically discriminated against in Japan. I continue to develop new courses for the curriculum, including topics on human rights and religion and foodways and religion.
