Unavoidable Danger
Unavoidable Danger
By Amanda Clark
One . . . two . . . three
The lights keep passing
Four . . . five . . . six
The minutes that slowly go by
The numbers go on
The path never ending
Breath slow and even
Heart beats steady and calm
The set comfortable
Their elder relation peaceful in front of 'em
Reflections of the past flicker in her eye
Hope in the future whispered in the silence
Peace . . . . .
Broken by sudden flashing eyes
The lunge
Panic overflowing the senses of both creatures
Screeching and the rank smell, fuel and rubber
Filling the nostrils
Shattering glitter, showering the scene
Life's liquid staining the ground
Screams dwarfing sounds of destruction
Shapes misformed by unjust timing.
Breaths painfully sharp
One no longer needing that constant beat
Unfated, unplanned, unavoidable
The experience frieghtfully real.
Only one life take this night
But danger awaits it's chance to dart again.
