"What I like most about Northland is the community.  Everyone is so friendly, kind, and compassionate about others, as well as the college, and environment.  People smile, laugh, and talk with one another which demonstrates a truly compassionate community."

"If I could say one thing to the students thinking about applying it would be that you are all invited to join us here at this warm and comfortable place and to learn how to build community, protect and share the environment, stretch your dreams, and grow in compassion and knowledge.  The professors, staff, students, and entire community of Northland College welcomes you to consider yourself part of this amazing, inspiring, and loving family of goal-setting and dreamers, shares, and believers in a better world for the future!"

"The most unique aspect of Northland is that there are so many facets that come together to make it such a special college.  The community, staff, professors, and the campus as a whole are so open, inspiring, and compassionate."

"My experience at Northland started as a junior in high school.  I am from Cora, Wyoming, and I attended high school in Pinedale, a small ranching and tourist town at the foot of the Wind River Mountain range.  I had been looking at colleges throughout the United States, and after a dozen application processes and continued searching; I had still not narrowed my 9-college list down much!  I knew I would prefer a smaller, liberal arts college, and knowing this, my searches in the west were limited.  When I heard about Northland through a magazine article, I grew more and more interested, especially with the environmental emphasis and strong financial aid offered to me.  In the spring of my junior year, I visited Northland with my father and sister.  I found the community to be very welcoming, and even with the knowledge that the college was a two day travel distance by vehicle from my Wyoming home; I felt a strong sense of family at this college.  I enjoyed learning about the various classes offered here, and I remember thinking how attractive and comfortable the campus itself was.  While we were here, my sister and I stood on the bridge crossing over the creek, and I remember talking about what a special place this college seemed to be.  My sister, who had attended Carroll College, another small liberal arts college in Montana which I had been considering, advised me that Northland seemed like an amazing place."

After Sara's visit, she traveled to Alaska Pacific University, and she toured the campus there as well.  After looking at the financial aid packages from both schools, she realized that Northland offered a substantial amount of financial aid in comparison to the other schools she was considering.  As a senior, she decided that Northland College was "it."  Sara now says, "With all of the serious considerations I have taken into account to attending this college, I have no doubts as to the fact that this college decisions was the 'right' one. The knowledge I have gained and the experiences I continue to grow from have opened up doors of opportunities and experiences that amaze me daily."  You can now see Sara roaming around Northland College's campus with a friendly smile, and hosting events at the ECCO house, an environmentally conscious and community orientated campus apartment, which she currently resides!
