"What I like most about Northland is the atmosphere, the people, and the location."

"The reason I came to Northland was partially because of my mom.  I found out about Northland because my mom was talking about her 'outdoorsy daughter' on a plane to a person sitting next to her.  They mentioned Northland and I looked it up.  I was originally planning on going to Iowa State for Forestry, but however knowing Iowa State has lectures of up to 500 people I thought perhaps it wouldn't be right for me.  I came to visit Northland in January and much to my disappointment, there was NO SNOW!!!  My host at Northland was very nice and I enjoyed my time on campus.  Every person I met on the sidewalk said hello to me and I felt so welcomed.  I felt very far from home but in a sense felt as though I was 'home' as well."

Kalli learned about Northland's Outdoor Education Therapeutic and Universal Design major which seemed like a good major. 

Kalli had doubts about whether Northland College was right for her but that all changed during her Orientation trip to the Porcupine Mountains. The friendships and experiences she had on that trip made her realize she had found the right college.

As she prepares for graduation, the friends and experiences she had at Northland make it hard for her to leave but have made her well equipped for the journey ahead of her.
