"What I like most about Northland is EVERYTHING! I can't think of anything that I do not enjoy about Northland."
"If I could say one thing to the students thinking about applying to Northland, it would be don't hesitate, and don't be afraid to call and talk to someone in the Admission's Office if you have questions because they are really nice people!""What I think is most unique about Northland is the positive learning and social environment.""I heard about Northland when I was a junior in high school. I received a letter in the mail about summer programs that were offered at this school that I had never heard of called, you guessed it, Northland College. Since I was interested in fish and wildlife ecology, I decided to enroll in the aquatics study trip that was offered. It was a week in the summer and I figured it would give me a good chance for a head-start on my intended major. The northwoods are not unfamiliar with me because I have a cabin about two hours southeast of Northland, but the powerful atmosphere was overwhelming. As soon as I stepped foot out of the car for that one week summer program, I knew then and there that this was the place for me. It just gave me that feeling of self and home. Granted it was the summer, and there were not many students on campus, but there were a few and those former students made me feel welcome. They lacked the judgemental views that many people have instinctively. That was the straw that broke the camels back for me. It was Northland or bust!"After Dan's summer program, he was determined to attend Northland College. Unfortunately he encountered some family complications that prevented him from attending Northland right out of highschool. He attended a community college and kept in close contact with the Admission's Office at Northland to make sure his credits would transfer. Dan now says, "I love the school, the environment, and all of the wonderful friends that I have made." You can now see Dan mingling on campus with all the friends he has made since transferring here.
