Northland College is a college like no other! Here are the top ten reasons you should consider enrolling at Northland College.

You can study on the largest freshwater lake in the world, surrounding a million acres of national forest.

You can eat locally grown organic vegetables everyday in the College cafeteria.

You can feel the warmth of geothermal heating in the Ponzio Campus Center on winter afternoons. Geothermal heating and cooling is an environmentally friendly system that takes heat from underground.

You can work with professors named Gus, Rick, Cynthia, Derek, and Dorothy (that's what you call them despite the fact that over 85% of Northland's faculty have doctoral degrees or the highest degree available in their field).

You can enjoy winter and all of its splendor in a place where 73 inches a year is the average snowfall.

You can howl with and track wolves with the Northland College Wolf Research Team.

You can enjoy wildlife in your front and back yard, including a creek that runs through campus and the occasional deer running across the mall. You may also have to travel across a wooden footbridge to get to class!

You can learn more about a wilderness legend named Sigurd. Curious? Spend some time on campus or online with the Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute.

You can experience an education like no other…from writing in the world of nature to studying weather in the meteorology lab.

If you are a leader, or dreamer, or athlete, or activist, or animal lover, or outdoor enthusiast, or green, or socially conscious, or hipster, or artistic, or rural, or tree hugger, or introspective, or valedictorian, or synced, or musical, or urban, or natural…YOU BELONG!
