Meeker is a source in non-violent conflict resolution. At Northland College she teaches “Introduction to Peace Studies,” “Gender and Peace,” “Conflict Resolution,” “Ecology of War and Peace,” “Social Movements,” and “Environmental Citizenship.” As part of Northland’s commitment to the environment, Meeker incorporates the environment into many of her conflict resolution courses.

Professional achievements and/or current responsibilities:

Meeker is currently visiting assistant professor of peace conflict and global studies at Northland College in Ashland, Wis. She is currently director of the Peace Studies Department, which includes coordinating program, advising students, and teaching.

Outside of Northland, she was a trainer for New Justice, Conflict Resolution Services. At Syracuse University she developed and implemented sexual harassment prevention education for non-faculty staff. She has also served on numerous conflict resolution consulting groups.

Meeker has led over twenty mediation trainings for the following Universities: Northland College, Colgate University, Havergord College, Georgetown University, Syracuse University, University College, St. Lawrence University, Buffalo State College, and Oswego State College.

She has also worked with over 100 interpersonal/small groups on conflict resolution. Some of the groups include Chequamegon Bay Arts Council, Washburn City Land Use Planners, Syracuse Symphony, Syracuse Peace Council and Truxton Landtrust.

She completed “victim offender mediation” through Albany Law School and “the elicitive approach to conflict resolution” from Eastern Mennonite University. She also attended diversity training and multicultural mediation at Syracuse University.
