Lagerroos is a resource on environmental education with a focus on sustainability. At Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin, she oversees the environmental studies program where courses emphasize students’ hands-on work in local sustainability initiatives. In January she was a keynote speaker at the Wisconsin Environmental Education Association giving a presentation entitled “Sustainability Through the Integral Lens: New Patterns of Seeing and Thinking.”

Serving on numerous non-profit boards, she is also very familiar with non-profit management and communication; and public participation techniques and policies.

Professional achievements and/or current responsibilities:

Lagerrooss is professor of government and environmental policy at Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin. She currently overseas the environmental studies program at the college. Since coming to Northland in 1988, she has taught American Government, Public Administration, Political Thought, Budget Process, Politics of Global Resources, Environmental Law, Land and Water Regulation, State and Local Government, Environmental Policy Analysis, Wetlands Mitigation, Recreation and Restoration, Business Law, Principles of Sustainability, Environmental Communications, Centers Workshop and Introduction to Environmental Studies.

Lagerroos is a member of the Bad River Watershed Association. As a member, she helped secure $35,000 in grants for Bayfield, Ashland and Iron counties in Wisconsin. She also involved students in designing water quality monitoring, surveying residents and training volunteers.

Lagerroos has consulted for a number of groups including the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Wisconsin Coastal Management Program and Northern Great Lakes Visitors Center.
