Copper Falls

Copper Falls

Copper Falls State Park, located about two miles northeast of Mellen, is a common summertime destination for hikers, picnickers, skiers, fisher people, and swimmers.

At the park, breathtaking waterfalls are framed by ancient lava formations that, over time, have been carved into deep gorges. Trails, used in summer and winter, meander along the river and are part of Wisconsin’s North Country National Scenic Trail system. Log buildings, built during the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps, contribute to the park’s ambience.

The park has 54 regular campsites for overnight stays, a group campsite for up to 40 people, a backpack campsite, and a rustic cabin.
