Apple Festival

The streets of Bayfield, Wisconsin (20 miles north of Ashland) bustle each first full weekend in October with more than 60,000 visitors who come to the region to celebrate Apple Festival.

Apples

Harvest colored leaves, deep blue Lake Superior, and ripe fruit beckon apple lovers from around the Midwest who appreciate Bayfield’s sailing culture, art, and bed and breakfasts.

Each year the festival features a variety of attractions, vendors, contests, food booths, performers and musical entertainment, and children’s activities. A Venetian Boat Parade is held on the Saturday evening of the festival, while an annual grand parade takes place on Sunday. In the parade, a 600-member mass band plays “On Wisconsin” while marching down Rittenhouse Avenue, one of Bayfield’s main streets.
