What we do

The Office of Marketing and Communications staff design ads, write and edit copy, photograph and write stories about on-campus events, design and produce college publications, maintain the College Web site and Northland Today, write press releases, publicize events, design and write Northland College Magazine and Eco-Vision Magazine, create e-newsletters, place experts in regional and national publications, and complete other public relations and marketing tasks as they come up.

If you need a brochure, want to publicize an on-campus event, need help designing an e-newsletter, have questions or concerns about the Web site, need help developing a marketing plan, or have a story idea or photo option please consider coming to us.

To get started, complete our Project Request Form. A member of our staff will then contact you about your project within five business days. Please be prepared to provide all necessary information for your project at that time. Below are estimated timelines for typical communications projects:

Press Releases- most can be completed with in 1 week of recieving all necessary information from the requestor.

Photography- depends on event and location as well as photo editing needs.

Design and Print Projects- vary in length dependent on complexity and scope from 1 week to 1 month.

Web Development- most minor changes to existing Web pages can be completed within 3-4 days. Forms can be built and posted within 4-5 days. HTML e-mail design and coding can usually be completed with in 1 week. Design and posting of entirely new pages can take 1 week or more depending on complexity and content.
