Ed Ochsenbauer begins his second season with the volleyball program. He was born and raised in Ashland and attended Northland College from 1981-83, while focusing on completing his core math, physics, and chemistry coursework in preparation for an engineering degree. Although growing up in the shadow of Northland, Ed grew to love the intimacy of the campus, the cultural aspects of an environmental college and the professionalism of the staff.He completed his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Ed has been with Bretting Manufacturing in Ashland now for 21 years, working as a mechanical designer, engineering sales, project manager and chief engineer.He is very active in Ashland's volleyball leagues. Since 2002, Ed has organized two indoor charitable volleyball tournaments per year and runs the indoor and outdoor coed volleyball leagues in Ashland. He has also co-coached the 7th and 8th grade volleyball program at Our Lady of the Lake School for the past five years as well as the 2003 Junior Olympic Volleyball Team headquartered in Washburn, WI.After playing her freshman year for the LumberJills, Kristi Walsh is back as an assistant coach. She played as an all-around middle for the JIll's. In high school, she was the setter and team captain for the varsity team. Throughout her years, she has played in high school, club ad sand volleyball. Kristi was named to the Mississippi Valley Conference Academic Honors team in 2003. She is originally from Cedar Rapids, IA and is majoring in Biochemistry with a minor in coaching. Kristi is the daughter of Bob and Karen Walsh.
