As LumberJills Head Coach Steve Wammer begins his seventh season leading the Northland College softball program, he will be assisted by a phenomenally strong staff. Liz Constantini, Chas Johnson and Tricia Darrington all bring valuable experience to the LumberJills' program. “Not many Division III programs are as fortunate as we are with not only a large coaching staff, but a very knowledge and dedicate group of coaches,” Wammer states.
Liz Constantini returns to the coaching staff for her sixth year as an assistant coach. A 2000 graduate of Clarke College, Constantini was a three-year starter earning NIIC All-Conference honors all three years, in addition, she was named Conference Player of the Year her junior season. Constantini also set a conference record hitting three home runs in one game. "Liz has proved to be a great asset to our staff, she has a great understanding of the game and relates very well to our players," Head Coach Steve Wammer commented. Constantini currently resides in Hurley, Wisconsin where she helps operate family businesses.
Chas Johnson returns to the coaching staff for her third season in 2008. A 2005 Northland graduate with a degree in Education, Johnson has made the transition from player to coach very well. The Bruce, Wisconsin native was primarily used as an infielder for the Jill's during her playing career, she was named team captain her senior year. “Chas has really grown as a coach,” notes Head Coach Steve Wammer. “She is a phenomenal student of the game and has a great work ethic.” Johnson, is employed in Northland’s athletic department and currently resides in Ashland.
A native of southern California, Tricia Darrington returns for her fourth year as a member of the LumberJills coaching staff. A 2004 Northland graduate, Darrington was a key component of the program over her playing career. She was a four-time All-Conference player and also is the Northland’s all-time hits leader. Darrington, who pitched and played third base, works with all facets of the program. "Tricia is a integral component of our program," comments Head Coach Steve Wammer, "she has been part of LumberJill Softball as a coach or player for virtually our entire history. She has a great knowledge of the game and has done an outstanding job.” Darrington currently resides in Ashland.
