Women's Soccer

The 2007 Women’s Soccer program looks to improve on last year’s record as the team returns 10 of 11 starters and adds some much needed depth to the roster. Last season was a challenge for the LumberJills as the team had to overcome several season-ending injuries. “I think after last season the women are eager to start a new season and one that is injury free,” says coach Mayforth Even though last season was a challenge for the Jill’s, both the players and the coaching staff feel they made strides with their individual improvement and look forward to putting everything together as a team. “Each year, teams face different situations and although last year was a tough one I feel certain players received quality playing time that will help our team this season.”

Northland will be lead by their senior class which has produced several All-Conference selections the past three years. “I look forward to watching this group finish their collegiate career and seeing how far they can lead this year’s team.” Both the coaching staff and the team have one thing on their mind and that is challenging for a conference championship. “The conference will be tough and there are a lot of quality teams that we will face this year but with this team’s determination and desires, I think they can achieve anything!” One game at a time is the way this year’s team will work through their schedule and they realize that no matter what everything rest in their own hands.
