Although the hot summer continues on the shores of Lake Superior, the calendar says that fall will arrive soon and with it comes the beginning of a new season of intercollegiate athletics.  Northland College fall athletes, including volleyball, men's and women's soccer, and men's and women's cross country, will report August 20th to begin preparations for their seasons.

The volleyball team returns five of the six starters from last year's team, including All-Conference performer Mel Anderson.  Anderson led the team in nearly every major category.  She was first on the team with 3.18 kills per game, in hitting percentage with .263, in serve percentage with .923, in serve receive with .859, and in digs per game with 3.23.  She was also second on the team in blocks with .73 per game. 

The Jills look to mature with their young squad, and add several key freshmen including Sarah Hank (OH), Laura Fisher (MH) and Courtney Kinney (S) to improve upon last year's finish.
