Four LumberJills Nab All-Conference Honors

Sarah Hank and Courtney Kinney were the only freshmen to be named the UMAC All-Conference team that was announced this morning.  Sophomore Melissa Anderson, who was the only freshman to make it last year, was named to the Honorable Mention team along with fellow sophomore Chelsea Lundgren.  For the complete list of All-Conference selections, click here.

Sarah Hank, a native from LeSueur, MN ranked second on the team with 356 kills and 2.99 kills per game.  Her 527 digs and 4.43 digs per game led the Jill's, while she ended up third with 35 service aces.  The 5'10 outside hitter plans to major in Physical/Health Education and minor in Coaching.

Despite missing six games this season with an injury, Courtney Kinney, from Ashland High School, had a very impressive first season with the Jill's.  Her 1117 assists and 10.44 assists per game were both team-highs.  She also averaged 2.60 digs per game, 0.69 kills p/g and 0.43 blocks.  She plans to major in Education.

Melissa Anderson led the LumberJills in kills (415) and kills per game (3.17).  The Brooklyn Park, MN native also ranked second with 41 service aces, 452 digs and 3.45 digs per game.  plans to major in Elementary Education and minor in Psychology.

Chelsea Lundgren, from Crosby, MN was fourth on the team with 266 kills and an average of 2.06 per game.  The sophomore also ranked second with 0.88 blocks per game.  Lundgren was also a 1st Team selection for the women's basketball team last season.  plans to major in Psychology and minor in Business and Coaching.
