LumberJills go 1-1 in Florida play

Brittany Schmitt recorded a win against Felician College on Tuesday as the LumberJills won 6-1.  She struck out eight while allowing the one earned run.  Mel Grego lead the Jills offense going 3-4 with two RBIs with teammates Bobi Jo Wolf going 2-4 and Karen Harnisch hitting two doubles and driving in two runs.

"We found a little bit of offense and put the pressure on them," Northland Coach Steve Wammer said.  "We hit the ball a lot better.  In our frist three games in Florida we picked up wins.  It was nice to wine three in a row after struggleing a bit on the turf at the Superior Dome."

Northland lost to Susquehanna in the second game of the day 8-0.  "We didn't hit as well," Wammer said.  "But we had four or five hard-hit balls that were outs.  As a coaching staff, after the game, we were surprised we only had three hits becuase it felt like we hit the ball better. They're.  They're a good team."

Northland will play a doubleheader with Neumann College starting at 8 am.
