Three Jills earn 1st Team honors

Karen Harnisch, Brittany Schmitt and Katie Zaban each were named to the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference 1st Team as voted on by the coaches.

Harnisch had a stellar year as she hit .475 with 15 doubles, six homeruns and 43 runs batted in.  Schmitt batted .362 to go along with six doubles and two homers.  She also was 12-9 in the circle with a 3.20 earned run average in 143.1 innings.  Zaban, who broke the Northland College hit record earlier in the season, hit .353, with two doubles and two homeruns.

Alex Potter and Stephanie Langfeldt each were named to the Honorable Mention Team.  Potter hit .284 with eight doubles and was second on the team with three homeruns.  Langfeldt batted .282 with nine doubles and went 10-4 on the mound, compiling a 4.58 earned run average in 90.1 innings pitched.

Schmitt, Harnisch and Tiffany Datko were also named to the All-Defensive Team.  Datko had a good year offensively as well as she batted .349 with ten doubles and three homeruns.

Overall, Northland batted .335 on the season, which included 90 doubles and 20 homeruns, while they posted a team ERA of 4.02.
