May 2Box ScoreAfter the game was suspended the day before in the bottom of the third, Northland College picked up where they left off as they cruised to a 9-1 win over the College of St. Scholastica in the opening game of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament.The Jills jumped out a 2-0 lead in the first after Stephanie Langfeldt's two-run single scored Tiffany Datko and Aurora Albrecht, who both walked to start the inning.The Saints pulled within 2-1 with a run in the top of the second, but the LumberJills plated two more on a Karen Harnisch RBI single and a RBI groundout by Langfeldt.The game was halted after the Jills loaded the bases in the bottom of the third. Asia DeVlaeminck started the inning with a single and was followed by a walk to Amanda Seely and a hit by pitch to Alex Potter. After a fielder's choice, Datko's two-run double scored Seely and Potter. Albrecht and Harnisch run-scoring singles then made it 8-0.Harnisch capped a 4-4 day with her sixth homer of the season in the fifth. She and Langfeldt each drove in three runs. Brittany Schmitt went five innings, allowing eight hits and striking out five.
