Mel Grego and Alex Potter were named to the Upper Midwest Collegiate Conference Academic All-Conference today.  The requirements for this achievement are:

• Post a 3.50 or better grade point average based on a 4.0 grading scale
• Complete two previous academic semesters at the nominating UMAC institution
• Compete in the sport he/she is nominated in the season that corresponds

Grego, a senior centerfielder from Houghton, MI hit .304 in 37 games this season.  She had five doubles, one triple and a homerun.  She led the Jill's in runs scored with 31 and also had 13 runs batted in from the lead-off position.  She was also named to the UMAC 1st Team.


Potter hit .292 in 42 games this past spring for the LumberJills.  The junior catcher from Nevis, MN also had four doubles and three homreuns in 2007.
