Five Jills Earn All Conference Awards

Senior pitcher Leah Moder and freshman outfielder and designated hitter, Becky Walters were named to the UMAC Softball All-Conference First Team while teammates senior outfielder Alicia Homola, senior outfielder Heather Kinnunen, and junior infielder Melissa Grego were named Honorable Mention.  Homola was also named to the All-Defensive Team. 

As one of the top pichers in the conference, Leah Moder posted a 2.38 ERA appearing in 19 games, finishing with a record of 10-7.  Moder faced 429 batters, striking out 59.  She had a perfect game against Martin Luther this year, pitching a no hitter.

Becky Walters appeared at First Base and Designated Hitter for the Jills this season.  She hit .426 and led the team in home runs with 9 and RBI's with 48.  She started in 33 of the 38 games she played in, and helped the Jills to be ranked 17th in the nation in homers as a team. 

Alicia Homola appeared at Center Field and Catcher for the Jills this year.  She had a fielding percentage of .942.  Homola started 39 of the 41 games that she appeared in, hitting .300 on the year, with 24 runs and 17 RBI's.

Melissa Grego played Second Base for Northland, starting in 42 of the 43 games that she appeared in.  She had a fielding percentage of .951, having 69 assists and 127 put outs.  Grego hit .308 with 41 runs and 18 RBI's.

Heather Kinnunen was in the Outfield for the Jills starting in all 44 games.  Kinnunen hit .333 with 32 RBI's, 36 runs, and 7 homers.  She had a fielding percentage of .831.
