Brittany Schmitt of Northland College has been named the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) softball Pitcher of the Week. Schmitt (Abbotsford, WI) was 3-0 for the LumberJills last week. In 18 innings, Schmitt allowed just one unearned run, walked one and had 26 strikeouts will giving up just eight hits, all singles.For the season, the freshman has thrown 90.1 innings, allowed 91 hits and has recorded 97 strikeouts against just nine walks, while posting a 2.29 earned run average.
