March 7Box ScoreMinot State University pounded out 16 hits and took advantage of four Northland College errors in a 10-2 win at the Tucson Invitational in Tucson, AZ.The Beavers roughed up ace Brittany Schmitt early as they plated three in both the first two innings off of eight hits.After having only one player reach base in the first two innings including striking out five times, the LumberJills (2-7) got things rolling in the third. Theresa Pufall and Schmitt both singled to start the inning. After a fielder's choice and a wild pitch, Karen Harnisch drove home both runners with a two-run single to make it 8-2.Minot State added two runs each in the fifth and sixth innings, with just one of them being earned. Overall, Schmitt went the distance allowing the 16 hits and ten runs, with five of them earned. She did not walk a batter and recorded two strikeouts. Harnisch was the lone Jill to have more than one hit with Katie Zaben recording the Jills' only other hit.
