Northland’s Men’s Cross Country competed in the Roy Griak Invitational this past weekend at the University of Minnesota. The LumberJacks were once again led by freshman Ben Blair (30:31) who was closely followed by sophomore Bryce Henry (30:40). “Ben and Bryce ran as teammates today,” said coach Dave Beeksma, “It is exciting to see how they will push each other over the second half of the season.” First-time runner Max Metz (32:12), sophomore Christopher Goscinak (32:53), and first-time runner Christopher Dunham (33:29) completed the scoring for Northland with junior transfer David Lardinois (33:38) and first-time runner Marty Schoofs (34:52) completing the top seven. Sophomore Allen Dalke (38:40) and freshman Kevin Robertson (38:49) also competed in the race.
The race was won by three-time champion and NCAA III defending champion Tyler Sigl with a time of 25:21. The University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse won the men’s division III title with a score of 53 points. The LumberJacks next competition is at their home meet on October 13th at the Valhalla Recreation area. The men race at 11:00 AM.
