The Northland College men's baseball team dropped a pair of games against Elizabethtown College Wednesday, dropping a 6-3 decision in the opener before falling 3-1 in the second game.

In the opener, Northland got off to a good start in the opening inning, scoring once in the top of the first to take a 1-0 lead into the bottom of the frame.

But Elizabethtown scored five times in the bottom of the first and added one more in the bottom of the second to take a 6-1 lead after two.

Northland managed to score single runs in the sixth and seventh innings to come within 6-3, but were held to just five hits for the game and could not mount an additional rally late.

Justin Kirby took the loss for Northland, pitching five innings while giving up eight hits and five earned runs. Brandon Frechette finished up for the Jacks.

Offensively, D.J. Feil led Northland offensively, going 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI.

In game two, Elizabethtown again took control early, scoring all three of their runs in the top of the first and then limiting Northland to just five hits to pull out the win.

The Jacks only run came in the bottom of the second.

Myles Buuck took the loss for Northland, pitching seven innings and allowing just three hits.

Offensively, Northland got single hits from Jason Jarrell, Mike Stevens, D.J. Feil, Chris Panabaker, and Travis Wederstrandt.
