The Jacks scored 2 runs on 4 hits and 1 error, while the Knights scored 1 run on 8 hits and 0 errors. The game was scoreless until the third inning then Knights managed to score against Northland starter Joe Lojpersberger to take an early 1-0 lead. Both teams continued to play stellar defense as most innings ended with three quick outs. Northland scored two runs the the third inning to take a 2-1 lead. The first run came when Jason Jarrell scored on DJ Feil's double. Feil then scored on an RBI by Ryan Riley.Lojpersberger took the win for Northland, striking out 8 batters.On Saturday, in the first game of the doubleheader the Jacks were off to a slow start, but finished strong, beating the Knights 7-2. Corey Boe scored in the bottom of the second on Winston Bothner's sacrafice fly. Martin Luther matched the score in the third inning, and it remained tied until the bottom of the fifth when the Jacks scored 2 runs. Myles Buuck and Winston Bothner scored on Eric DeCaires' double.Martin Luther added one in the sixth, but the Jacks crushed any hope by scoring 4 more runs the the sixth. Feil started the Jacks off with a base hit and stole second, before Cody Carroll readed on an error by the shortstop, advancing Feil to third. Boe got the RBI when Feil scored. Boe stole second and advanced to third on Bothner's single. Bothner received the RBI when Carroll scored. Boe scored and Bothner advanced to third on Brandon Frechette's single. For the final run, Bothner scored in Myles Buuck's RBI. Ryan Riley took the win for the Jacks, allowing 3 hits.In the second game of the day, the Northland LumberJacks played a solid offensive game scoring in every inning except for the seventh. Scoring 5 runs before Martin Luther got one on the board, the Jacks were off to a great start. In the first inning, Riley hit a double for the Jacks, advancing Boe to third, in place to score when Carroll was hit by a pitch. Bothner received the next RBI when he reached base on an error by the shortstop and Riley scored.The Jacks added one in the second Mike Stevens scored on the RBI by Travis Wederstrandt. In the third, the Jacks added two more runs when Carroll scored on Bothner's double and Bothner scored in Wederstandt's single.Martin Luther then put two up on the board in the top of the fourth, but Northland matched it with two of their own making the score 7-2. Kyle Rogers and Carroll both recevied RBIs in the fourth. Riley scored on Rogers single and Rogers scored on Carroll's double.In the fifth the Jacks added their final run of the game when Stevens scored on the RBI from Feil.Martin Luther added one more in the sixth, but it was not enough, ending the game 8-3. Myles Buuck took the win for the Jacks, striking out 6 batters.
