A combination of solid pitching and timely hitting from the Jacks led them to victory Friday as they defeated Presentation College 4-2 in the first of three games. . .

The first four innings of the game displayed good defense and solid pitching until the top of the fifth inning, at which point, with two on base, the Saints leadoff hitter came up with a double to bring them to a 2-0 lead. Later on, in the bottom of the fifth, the Jacks would come back to score their first run, bringing the score to 2-1. The game would then remain close until the bottom of the eighth, at which point the Jacks went on a terror, scoring three runs to bring the score to 4-2, a lead they would never surrender.

Senior Joe Lopjersberger, Owego, NY, helped lead the Jacks on Friday with a complete game victory over the Saints. Joe pitched nine strong innings, only allowing one earned run on eight hits throughout the contest. Other Northland players that helped contribute to the win were Senior Travis Wederstrandt, who went 2 for 3 with a run scored and a run batted in, and Sophomore Myles Buuck, who went 3 for 3 with three doubles and two runs scored.
