Jacks Split with Bethany Lutheran

The Jacks split a double header with Bethany Lutheran today. Northland started out strong, winning the first game 14-9, but the Vikings came back to win the second game 6-2.  

In the first game, the Vikings took charge and scored two runs in the first inning. 

The Jacks answered back in the third inning with  three runs. Ryan Riley hit a line drive between third and short stop to bring in Corey Boe. Kyle Rogers smacked the ball out to left center for a double which brought in his teamate, Ryan Riley. Riley came around the bases to score the third run of the inning for the LumberJacks.

In the fourth inning, Wederstrandt connencted with the pitch to send the ball flying down the right field line. This brought in his teammate Jason Jarrell for the first run of the inning. Then D.J. Feil hit a hard ball right between third and short stop to bring in Wederstrandt. This inning brought the Jacks into the lead 7-4.

The game became very exciting in the sixth inning. With a runner on first and second, DJ Feil came up to bat. He nailed the ball and it flew over the fence between the center and left fielders for a three run homer. Northland had a game high four runs this inning.

The Jacks didn't let up in the seventh. Kyle Rogers hit a line drive to to center field which brought in two runners, Wederstrandt and Feil, and advanced Rogers to second base. 

This was the last inning fo rthe Jacks with another amazing three runs scored.  The Jacks scored 14 runs this game while only letting Bethany Lutheran come away with 9. The winning pitcher was Joey Norton.

 The second game was tough, as the Jacks lost a hard battle 6-2.  Northland scored their first run in the third inning. Myles Buuck smashed the ball over the center fielders head for a double. Then Jason Jarrell came up to bat and hit a nice ball into the pocket between center and left field to score Myles Buuck.

 The last run for the Jacks came in the sixth inning. Ryan Riley connected with the ball and sent it flying over the left fielder to reach second base and advance DJ Feil to third.  Cody Carroll then hit a sacrifice fly out right field to bring in Feil.  

The LumberJacks will play a double-header against UM-Morris on April 14 starting at 2:00 p.m. Both of these games will be webcasted.
