The LumberJacks faced Bethany Lutheran in the first round of the 2006 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference baseball post-season tournament. They easily eliminated the Vikings by the score of 8-1.The Vikings jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, holding onto their lead through four innings, but the Jacks tied it in the top of the fifth and went on to score 7 more unanswered runs. Leading the Jacks in the victory was Myles Buuck with three hits and one RBI, and Travis Wederstrandt, Kyle Rogers, and Corey Boe recording 2 hits and two RBIs. Joe Lopjersberger took the win for the Jacks pitching all nine innings and allowing only one run. The Jacks will face the winner of #4 UM-Morris and #1 St. Scholastica at 7:30 tonight in the second round of the tournament.
