Darin Hendley limited the Jacks to just four hits in a 5-1 win in game one, but Bryce Szymanski tossed five scoreless innings in relief as Northland won game two of the doubleheader 7-2.

Northland opened up the scoring in the third inning with two outs when sophomore Matt Tanneberg drew a walk from Hendley. Junior Cody Carroll plated him with a two-out double to right-center.

After that, it was all Hendley, as he held the Jack's hitless over the final four innings. He finished the game with six strikeouts and four walks to earn his second win of the year.

The Vikings scored a run in the third, another in the fourth and chased Jack's starter Alex Tsomaya from the game in the fifth when they pushed across three more.

Outside of Carroll's double, Casey Frantz, Chris Steiner and Mike Stevens were the only Jacks to record a hit.

The Vikings jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in game two, as they scored a run in the first inning.  The Jacks came alive in the third inning when Casey Frantz scored on a Mike Stevens' single.  Matt Tanneberg followed with another single, then Cody Carroll doubled home Stevens and moved Tanneberg to third.  Corey Stibbe grounded out the the shortstop to score Tanneberg.  Bryce Szymanski's RBI single plated Carroll to give the Jacks a 4-1 lead.  After the first two Vikings reached base in the bottom of the third, Szymanski came in relief of starter Michael Cross. With the bases loaded and no one out, Szymanski held Bethany to just one run in the inning to preserve a 4-2 lead.

The Jacks blew the game open with three runs in the seventh.  WIth one out, Tanneberg and Carroll reached on a fielder's choice.  They both advanced on a wild pitch to set up Chris Steiner's two-run single to center.  Steiner advanced to second on an error by the left fielder and advanced to third on Stibbe's ground out to first.  A wild pitch scored Steiner to give the Jacks a comfortable 7-2 lead.

After getting four hits in the first two innings, the Vikings were only able to muster one hit off of Szymanski in the final five innings.  Frantz, Szymanski and Tanneberg each had two hits to lead the nine-hit attack.

Up next for Northland is the University of Minnesota-Morris (4-10, 1-2 UMAC) on April 11 at 3:00 PM, and then a double header the following day 12:00 PM.
