Box Score vs ManhattanvillePlay by Play vs ManhattanvilleThe Northland College men's baseball team picked up their first win of the season on Tuesday when they held off a late charge to down Manhattanville 10-8.The Jacks scored once in the first and twice in the second to open up an early 3-2 edge before adding three runs in the fourth for a 6-2 lead after four.Manhattanville would refuse to quit, scoring once in the fifth, three times in the seventh and twice in the eighth to keep matters tight down the stretch.But Northland managed to hold on thanks to single runs in the sixth and ninth innings along with two runs in the seventh.Joey Norton got the win for Northland, pitching seven innings while allowing eight hits and five earned runs.Offensively, Northland pounded out 11 hits and were led by Chris Panabaker, who went 3-for-5 with an RBI. D.J. Feil and Ryan Riley each added two hits for the Jacks.
