Box Score vs. St. ScholasticaPlay by Play vs. St. ScholasticaThe Jacks battled through the elements on April 11th as mother nature unleashed a downpour in the eighth inning of Tuesday's game against St. Scholastica, leading to a 30 minute rain delay. Following the rain delay, the Jacks the Saints took advantage of some timely hitting in the late innings to hand Northland an 11-5 loss.The beginning of the game was looking bleak for the Jacks as St. Scholastica got a three-run homer from Keith Ritsche in the opening inning. The Jacks responded in the first inning with a homerun hit by DJ Feil to cut the deficit to 3-1 after one. The second inning only granted one run for St. Scholastica by Weiss as the Jacks battled back. Kyle Rogers was hit by pitch which advanced him to first. A past ball then advanced him to second and a double by Myles Buuck sent him home. A single by Jason Jarrell then sent Buuck home cutting Scholastica's lead down to 4-3.In the top of the third, St. Scholastica scored again by Ritsche who singled and then stole his way home. It wouldn't be until the bottom of the fifth that Northland scored again, this time by another homerun hit by Ryan Riley. This then tied the game with a score of 5-5. In the sixth inning, the Jacks let in three more runs for Scholastica however and were unable to battle back. In the top of the eigth, Scholastica scored three more runs thus securing the game with a final score of 11-5. There were some key players for the Jacks in this game. DJ Feil led the team with 2 runs, 2 hits, and 1 RBI. Another key player was Ryan Riley with a 2 run homer in the fifth inning. Myles Buuck had 1 run, 1 hit, and 1 RBI in the game. The LumberJacks overall record now stands at 9 wins, 9 losses, and 1 tie. The Jacks next game is on April 14th at 3:00 pm in Morris, MN where they will be facing UM-Morris.
