Assistant Coach

Chris Hamp

Born and raised in Alpena, Michigan, Chris is the son of Robert and Linda Hamp. He has two brothers, Bob and Eric, who all still reside in their hometown. In high school, Chris played for the Alpena High Wildcats, a Division 1 hockey team that managed to go to the semifinals his senior year. Afterwards, he attended Alpena Community College for two years, prior to transferring to Northland College in the fall of 1999.

While attending Northland College, Chris played both hockey and baseball for the LumberJacks, earning rookie of the year and All-Conference Honorable Mention in baseball. He would go on to graduate from Northland in the spring of 2002, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. He is currently in his sixth year of teaching at the Butternut School District and is on track to graduate from the University of Eau-Claire in the spring of 2008 with a Master's Degree in history. Currently, Chris and his wife Emily reside in Ashland.
