Alumni Association

Northland’s alumni association is the organization of all Northland alumni. You are eligible to be a member of the alumni association if you attended Northland for one year or more. Occasionally, the alumni board of directors confers honorary alumni status upon non-alumni to express appreciation for work they have done on behalf of the College.

Our mission

The Northland College Alumni Association is dedicated to advancing the goals of Northland College by providing connection, cooperation, and collaboration between alumni, students, faculty, and the Northland community.

The Alumni Office

The Alumni Office is on the Northland College campus and consists of the director, staff assistant, and student workers. The office works to keep you informed about the College and to help you stay in touch with other alumni. Office services include planning alumni events, publishing alumni class notes, maintaining records of alumni addresses and occupations, planning alumni reunions, organizing the alumni travel program, and coordinating alumni volunteer opportunities like the Career Network.

Benefits for mind and body

Membership in the alumni association entitles you to certain benefits. If you live in the Chequamegon Bay area, you can use the sports center and the library, receive discounts on campus events, and participate in Chequamegon Bay alumni activities. If you live elsewhere, you will receive mailings about college events in your area.

Government

The alumni association is governed by the alumni board of directors.

Alumni board

The alumni board is Northland’s volunteer policy-setting board of directors whose purpose is to direct the alumni association’s goals, programs, and services. The full board of 30 members meets three times annually and functions through a number of committees. The committees work on communication programs, reunion planning, sustainability, fundraising, student/alumni programs, and developing new programs for alumni involvement. The board of directors welcomes comments and suggestions for their activities.

The board is governed by a constitution and bylaws, and its members include the president, president elect, vice president and 27 general members. Alumni may make nominations to the alumni board of directors on an ongoing basis.
