The grade point average is calculated based on courses in which one of the following grades is earned:
Only grades earned at Northland College will be computed for determining academic status.
Satisfactory (S), Unsatisfactory (U), and Incomplete (I) grades do not affect grade point average.
The GPA is calculated by dividing the total number of grade points earned by the number of hours attempted for which grades of A, B ,C, D, or F were earned. Do NOT include any hours in which a S, U, or I was earned. The result, rounded off to two decimal places, is your GPA. (See example below).
The chart below is an example of how to determine grade point values earned for letter grades.
