Biochemistry

"Biochemistry applies the tools of chemistry to understand the inner workings of biological systems."

Brian Nowak-Thompson
Assistant Professor of Chemistry

Only Northland faculty members bring to your biochemistry classes and research projects a wealth of expertise in a variety of areas such as bacterial metabolism, plant stress response, microbiology and virology, and physical biochemistry. You'll receive individualized instruction in small class settings that encourage student learning in one of the most rapidly growing (and therefore employable) scientific disciplines. You'll develop scientific skills applicable for a career in the molecular life sciences such as biotechnology, toxicology, or biomedical research.
