Withdrawal from College

Northland College recognizes that circumstances may require a student to withdraw from the College during a session. Students requesting to withdraw should contact the registrar's office to obtain a Northland College Withdrawal Statement. This form must be completely filled out or students will not be eligible for tuition adjustments and may be responsible for paying back any financial aid received from the College. Students will be considered withdrawn on the date that the properly completed Withdrawal Statement is returned to the registrar's office. The Registrar's signature and date authenticate the Statement. No withdrawal is considered official until these procedures are completed. Students who leave college before the end of a session without officially withdrawing receive a grade of "F" for all courses during the session. Students who follow proper withdrawal procedures will receive a tuition adjustment based on the tuition refund schedule found below.  Students who follow the withdrawal procedure after the 25th day of class of a semester, but before the published last day to withdraw during a semester will earn grades of W in their classes.

Tuition refunds are calculated according to the schedule below and credited to a student’s account. Students receiving financial aid who receive tuition and/or room and board refunds will receive a similar reduction in their total financial aid package. Students receiving federal financial aid through Title IV programs will receive a refund consistent with federal regulations. Please contact Financial Aid for more information on calculating refunds for students receiving financial aid. There is an administrative fee for calculating refunds, which is the lesser of 5 percent of the calculated refund or $100.
