Member of the Board of Trustees since 2004. William O’Connor is an attorney, practicing with Wheeler, Van Sickle & Anderson, SC in Madison Wisconsin. Bill is engaged in a statewide practice focused on land and water conservation matters. He is actively involved in water and resources law and public policy, providing legislation representation to the Wisconsin Association of Lakes, Gathering Waters, and the Wisconsin Society of Land Surveyors. His land conservation practice has included representation of the Trust for Public Land, the American Farmland Trust, and numerous Wisconsin land trusts. He is the past chair of the Board of Directors of the Land Trust Alliance in Washington, D.C.

Bill has many family ties to Northland. He is the grandson of Allan Pray, who served on Northland’s Board from 1918 to 1958, nephew of Theron Pray, another long-time Northland Board Member, and cousin to Helen DeHaven Bush, a recent Board member who served from 1992 to 2002.

Bill serves as vice-chair of the Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute Committee and is a member of the Enrollment & Marketing Committee.
