Assistant Secretary for the Northland College Board of Trustees. Trustee since 1996. Gary LaPean is the President & CEO, Evergreen Country Shopper, Printing Plus, ScreenLine, North Country Sun, and LMT Food Group. Gary, along his wife and business partner, Kay, have been Ashland boosters for decades. Both have taken leadership roles in “town and gown” relations, and Gary and Kay have hosted Board functions in the Ashland area.
Gary was honored as the Ashland Person of the Year in 1978, and his company, the Evergreen Country Shopper, Inc., was named Ashland Business of the Year in 1989. Gary was recognized by the Wisconsin Division of Vocational Rehabilitation in 2004 as a leader in providing employment opportunities for persons with disabilities.A member of the Board since 1996, Gary currently serves as vice-chair of Institutional Advancement Committee, and on the Executive and Enrollment & Marketing committees.
