Hannibal Bolton, Sterling, VAChief of Division of Fish & Wildlife, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service
Member of the Board of Trustees since 1994. Hannibal Bolton is the Chief of Division of Fish and Wildlife Management and Habitat Restoration at the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, Washington, D.C. He is a nationally recognized expert in river and coastal preservation, and has authored several articles on the subject of restoration of species and habitat. He has worked with more than 33 different Native American tribal units on preservation and collaboration between Native fishers and the USFW Service. He is frequently asked to represent the USFW Service in collaborative projects with seemingly divergent groups. He recently participated in the Walk a Mile in My Boots program – a work exchange program between the USFW staff and the national beef cattle ranchers to better understand each others unique challenges and perspectives.
Hannibal has a long association with Northland. His niece is a Northland College graduate, and he himself enrolled in classes in Federal Indian Law and Native American Cultures when he was a fisheries biologist living in Ashland.Hannibal currently serves on the Enrollment & Marketing, Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute, and Buildings and Grounds committees.
