Carol Blum, M.D., Liberty, MOAnesthesologist
Member of the Board of Trustees since 1987. Dr. Carol Blum is board certified, practicing anesthesiology and pain management in Independence, Missouri. She is a member of Physicians for Social Responsibility Association, the American Medical Association, and the American Society of Anesthesiologists. She has lived and worked in Ashland, as an anesthesiologist at Memorial Medical Center, and was actively involved in Northland College programs while living here in Ashland.
Carol’s relationship to the College goes back to her grandmother who married a Northland College professor. Carol and her husband, Steven Wilson, have established a scholarship in memory of her father, Allen Blum, who died in September 2005, and in honor of her mother, Josephine, to recognize her parents’ love of education and to ensure that worthy Northland College students are able to realize their potential.
Carol chairs the Academic Affairs Committee of the Board, and is a member of the Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute and Buildings and Grounds committees.
